After having a great season in Defensa y Justicia, the club that opened the doors to Jonas, he is contacted by coach Ariel Holan to join the first red squad, a challenge that excited him and led both parties to close the incorporation

On July 9, 2017, Jonas signed for two years.

2.GAMES:
Jonas played the new Super League and participated in the Copa Libertadores de América.

PRESENT

Independiente finished the Super League in May 2018 in the 6th position with 28 participating teams. In June 2018, Jonas left the club by decision of the DT and returned to Defensa y Justicia.
